REBLOG TO SUPPORT RUE AND CINNA

Recently the actors who play Rue and Cinna have come under attack from Racist fans of the Hunger Games. Reblog if you support the casting of Amandla Stenberg, the adorable and talented actress who plays Rue, and Lenny Kravitz, the unquestionable genius who plays Cinna.

How about my account was suspend. For what? I don’t know but I’m BACK!!!

Also, this Rue, Cinna, Thresh hate is crazy. Y’all really didn’t read the book, did you? So, in your world everybody is white? EVERYBODY!? Even the people with brown skin? Come on!

Did the Fandom and I read different books? I definitely thought POC were in The Hunger Games »

I’m not one to nit pick about character description and inclusion/subtraction when a book is adapted into a movie. That is usually left to the directors and producers discretion, as it should be. I am always happy when People Of Color are correctly cast from character descriptions and even more excited when someone of color is picked when there is no character description.

What I am disappointed about is the Fandom’s reaction to the actress who is cast to play Rue. I mean, did we read the same book? That little girl IS Rue. And Cinna really could have been anybody so I’m really loving that Lenny was cast to play him. I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t think the lead role should have been someone with a bit more melanin in her skin but Jennifer Lawrence’s performance has now cemented her in my brain as Katniss. Honestly, March can’t get here fast enough.
